Carpenter affirms that the actress did not accept his request to be Laurie Strode. Anne has no memory of having been offered the role to John Carpenter or being offered the role. It is possible that her agent declined the role on her behalf without telling her. She was initially chosen by Glen Larson who sent her a very preliminary script for a role on the 1978 series on television Battlestar Galactica. The character was weak enough for her to accept the part. In the future, Glen came up with a completely new role exclusively for her featuring an even stronger character called Sheba. After having read the initial 250 pages of The Living Legend she accepted instantly. The season lasted for just one year. The actress starred alongside Desi Arnaz Jr. (son of Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball) Melanie Griffith and Robert Carradine in the film Joyride (1977) and also co-starred with Michael Moriarty in the horror film The Dark Tower (1987).
