tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27 in 1976. Gonzalez was born in the southern part of California. He attended Huntington Beach High School and was a star football and basketball player. Gonzalez continued to be a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He led the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, he tied the record for school bowls with nine receptions. Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament within a couple of months. After graduating from high school Gonzalez was selected in the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was picked as the 13th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez played for the Chiefs from 1997 until 2008. Then, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL season, he completed more than 59 passes per season.
